we are... THE BOIZ

Last year we had an amazing rookie year! We started the season in late October as we began meeting at Alta. We built the drive train from the instructions we found on revrobotics.com. Little did we know that we were making a big mistake by building our drive train first. We later found out the importance of designing our robot before our drive train. This allows the drive train to be built for the robot, not the robot for the drive train.

Being a rookie team, we didn’t prepare any CAD files but got to work drawing our ideas on whiteboard and paper. After we completed the design process, we began building the body of our robot. Fortunately, we did end up with a great design that fit our drive train after all.

One of the things we really wanted for our robot is mecanum wheels. Having them made our robot vastly superior to those that didn’t because it was much more maneuverable.
